At 221B Partners, we understand the challenging landscape that clients face
when protecting their people, assets and reputations.

Threat actors seeking to do harm present a potential danger that needs to be investigated and evaluated by professionals with experience and insight to help gather intelligence to allow stakeholders to make informed decisions to put safety first while also mitigating risk. This information is invaluable for organizations looking to protect themselves against both known entities with a history of malicious activities and unknown actors who may emerge as threats. A partner capable of
providing this critical intelligence is an essential component in a comprehensive security strategy, offering both the tools and techniques required to gather relevant information, and the necessary depth of knowledge and analytical skills required to navigate the complexities of modern threat landscapes.

Our Role in Threat Investigations

Once engaged by a client, we identify, collect and analyze information quickly and efficiently from public records, open source, and deep and dark web content, while reviewing available client-provided information and background and other data points to provide strategic and actionable intelligence to inform and instruct decision making. We can also liaise with law enforcement agencies, clinical forensic psychologists, legal experts, workplace violence prevention experts and others to equip clients with the best intelligence and approach to handle an emerging threat situation.

  • Identity resolution of unknown or known threat actors’ names, phone
numbers, email addresses, usernames addresses and other personal
    identifiable information (PII)
  • Collection and analysis of content from traditional and alternative social
media platforms, forums, blogs and other sources to identify risks, threats
    and vulnerabilities impacting clients
  • Public records research, to include criminal history, civil litigation,
temporary restraining orders and orders of protection, contact with law
enforcement and emergency services and other records where available
  • Attempt to determine if a subject has access to weapons or specialized
    training
